Maintenance of Window

Care of Weep Holes:
All Monarch Vinyl Sliding Windows are manufactured with weep holes. These are designed to catch water that is inside of the window and drain it back to the exterior. These weep holes use a baffle system to restrict air flow to the building interior. The weep holes are located in the windows sill area. There will be weeps in the bottom of the sliding window track that drain water into closed passages in the sill. Then there will be weep holes that drain water threw the exterior face of the sill to exterior of the building.

To allow the window to perform correctly these weeps must be kept clear and free of debris. If dirt accumulates it should be cleaned out. A flat blade may be useful to clean the holes that lead to the exterior. Care should be taken not to damage the baffle.
